G.C. EMERGENCY RESPONSE REPORT: Director Dennis McNulty
spoke on the changes to the Radio Shop at the Center. With the retirement
of Mike Kiszelewski and the resigning of Russell Lawrence, the County has
decided not to fill those positions. The County entered into a contact with
Motorola to keep the radio system running. Motorola is supposed to have a
field technician in Clayton 5 days a week. Dennis stated that they have not
had a face to face meeting with representatives from Motorola to address
some issues, so there are quite a few questions that could not be answered.
It is assumed that Motorola will continue to program pagers and radios that
was done by the Radio Shop, but those issues have not been addressed as of
tonight’s meeting. Radio Shop will be run by Motorola who is under
contract to
Jim Schmidt reported that they had sent out Fire Department profiles, that he
asks to fill out and returned to the Center. The Fire Coordinators Office is
undergoing an audit. There are Task Force updates being done. They are
working on numbering for military style vehicles that departments have
received and are using. Jim also advised that the Fire Safety Trailers are
being upgraded at Camping World in Logan Township.
There was a discussion held on ICS and the State Police, be sure that any
courses that you attend are approved.
FIRE COORDINATION: Steve Smith advised that they have been busy
so far. Task Force list have been distributed. All members responding on
any Task Forces are to be SCBA trained and have no facial hair. Also NO
junior firefighters are to respond on Task Force assignments. The Brush
Fire Task Force is being worked on there will be training sessions held for
those who are assigned to the Brush Truck Task Force.
Steve Smith thanked Dennis Kappler for his assistance on the smooth
transition in the Office.
HAZ-MAT: Andrew Halter and Elliott Davis are in charge of the Haz-Mat
team and they will be attending the next Operational meeting.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY EMS: Nick is unable to attend tonight’s
meeting however he reports that as of the middle of December all GCEMS
Ambulances are now outfitted with Stryker Power Load Systems and
Stryker Electric Stretchers.
