The meeting was called to order by President Cardile at 19:30 hours. The group saluted the flag
the invocation was given by the Secretary.

MINUTES OF PAST MEETING:
Jason Kell motion that the minutes of the September meeting be approved as emailed seconded
by Dan Baker, motion passed.
COUNTY COMMISSIONER REPORT: Commissioner Christy: Unable to attend the
meeting.
FIRE MARSHALS REPORT: The following are the reports:
The following is my report for the actions taken by the Gloucester County Fire Marshal’s
Office for the period of September 10, 2021 to October 14, 2021.
Inspections for the period: 256 Total for the Year: 2,846
Fire Safety Permits: 37 Total for the Year: 74
Fire Investigations for the period: 11 Total for the Year: 80
Fire Fatalities for the period: 0 Total for the Year: 3
Fire Scene Injuries for the period: 2 Total for the year: 13
Juvenile Fire setter actions for the period: 0 Total for the Year: 5
Fire Prevention/K9 Training/Demo for the period: 15 Total for the Year: 29
Fit Testing for Agencies for Period: Fire Academy Recruit Class
Total Actions Taken by the Fire Marshal’s Office to date: 3,050

FIRE ACADEMY & G.C. EMERGENCY RESPONSE CENTER REPORTS: Jim
Schmidt reported that:
1. Fire Academy just added 5 new instructors Dan Dobleman, Eli Hall, Dennis Marchei,
Ralph (Bud) Miller, Skeeter Mitten. (2) additional instructors in the process
2. FF1 recruit class just finished there Hazmat Awareness and Operations section. Thank
you GC HazMat team for assisting.
3. Academy conducted a Heavy Vehicle Extrication Class for Hammonton FD last
weekend.
4. Upcoming Auto Extrication II has a waiting list
5. Building project moving forward, all the trees have been removed to make the training
grounds accessible.
6. Radio shop sent email advising radio upgrades have been completed and to contact
them for any programming needs
7. Radio recorders still pending installation Sta.(s) 9-1, 9-2, 9-3, 9-4 26-1, 28-3, 39-2
He also advised that the tones for the Paramedics has been changed.
FIRE COORDINATION: Dennis Kappler had nothing new to report.
HAZ-MAT: Dennis Kappler reported on an incident that happened in Deptford Township
where a resident had created a suicide bomb, which created a hazardous condition in the home
where he was living. First responders were overcome by fumes from the device. Eight people
were treated and the perpetrator has died. PEOSHA is conducting an investigation of the
response with those involved. He advised all to remain vigilant.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY EMS: Nick advised that they are still available to conduct training
for the departments.
N. J. DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY: No report
N.J. STATE FIREMEN’S RELEIF ASSOCIATION: Glenn Roemmich reported that the 3

Quarter financial reports are due into the office on October 30
th
. The convention Pink & Blue
reports are due into the office by November 1
st
.
Field Audit will be held on Thursday October 28
th
at the Paulsboro Firehouse from 6 pm to 8
pm. The Secretaries and Treasurers should have received a letter regarding the audit. I have a
few forms of what they will be looking at during the audit.
There will be a special caucus held in Ocean County in November to elect a new Executive
Committeeperson. Jennie Hollingsworth has been hired as an administrative assistant to Field
Examiner James Kenney, upon Jim Kenny’s retirement, she will be the new Field Examiner.

N.J. FIREMENS HOME: Harry Strube was unable to attend the meeting.
N.J. EXEMPT ASSOCIATION: Glenn Roemmich reported that the reorganization meeting
will be held this Saturday in Brick Township.
LAW & LEGISLATION: No Report
BANQUET COMMITTEE:
1. Anyone who would like to purchase tickets for the Annual Banquet on January 13, 2022 at
Masso's Please Contact Keith Tetreault (Flounder) via email (firekeith28@yahoo.com) text or
call (609) 280-2669. Tickets are only being sold at the Chief's Meeting's (November and
December) but we need an accurate head count for the event. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD
AT THE DOOR. Payment can be cash, check or voucher
2. Any department that would like to submit names for any members who passed away (2020
and 2021) Please submit the following: Department Name, Member's Full Name and Year
to Dan Baker at bakesquad3@gmail.com so it can be a part of the program. Deadline will be
December 12, 2021.
3. Dan DeBear will be putting a slide show together, if you would like to submit pictures from
major incidents, new apparatus or group pictures, they will need to be submitted by December
16, 2021. Pictures can be emailed to d.debear@woolwichfd.com
4. We are looking for door prizes, we are looking for anything that can also be made into gift
baskets. I have letters for businesses and will have them on hand at the November Chief's
Meeting if you can help out the committee.

BY-LAW COMMITTEE: The following proposed by-law amendment was read and will be
voted on at the November meeting. This is an addition to the Treasurer’s section of the by-
laws:
ARTICLE IX. TREASURER
SECTION 7.
He/She shall before the annual meeting work with the Director of the Gloucester County
Fire Academy to ensure that the Fire Academy has an ample inventory of Fire Academy Tee
Shirts and Webbing to outfit all new recruits attending the Fire Academy during the upcoming
years semester’s. The maximum amount of funds will not exceed $1500.00 dollars per year.
Chuck Murtaugh motion that the Executive Board look at the dues section of the By-Laws and if it
needs to be revised to let the By-Law Committee know seconded by Dan Baker, motion passed.
BEREAVEMENT COMMITTEE: There was a discussion on what we are going to do, as the
Committee needs a new Chairman. We will need to purchase more flags. Pat Mason motion to
purchase 10 bereavement flags seconded by Scott Oatman, motion passed. Rick Thomas
advised that Deptford will continue to maintain the trailer.
SPECIAL COMMITTEES:
RADIO COMMITTEE: Will meet before the November meeting.
TECH RESCUE: At the September Operational meeting they had presentation. They are
looking for new members.
TENDER TASK FORCE: They will be scheduling a drill to be held in Newfield.
FOAM STRIKE TEAM: Jeff Pfeiffer is resigning from being the Strike Team Commander.
A new Commander will need to be found.
LARGE DIAMETER HOSE TASK FORCE: They met 2 days ago. They have updated the
response card. They are planning a drill for November 16
th
.
TRAINING/FIRE ACADEMY COMMITTEE: Nothing
