The meeting was called to order by President Cardile at 1930 hours. The
group saluted the flag the invocation was given by Assistant Chaplain
Archie Roemmich.

NEW MEMBERS:

Frank Lambing motion to accept the gentleman into the Association,
seconded by Pat Robinson, motion passed.
President Cardile then administered the Oath of Membership to the new
member.
MINUTES OF PAST MEETING:
Bill Beckett motion that the minutes of the February meeting be approved as
emailed seconded by Dennis Allonardo, motion passed.
FREEHOLDER REPORT: Freeholder Chila thanked all for their service
during the storms and keeping our communities and citizens safe. He
advised that the County budget had been introduced. County EMS is now
serving 20 communities as Woodbury Heights has been added to the
communities serviced by the County. There will be a job fair at the County
College the third week of March.

FIRE ACADEMY REPORT: Bob Hill reported that:
FIREFIGHTER 1
Is at their Mid-Term with 16 adults, and the junior course is in their
final classes with 10 juniors.
Graduation will be held on Thursday May 17
th
at the College.
They are making many improvements on the smoke house.
G.C. EMERGENCY RESPONSE REPORT: Nothing to report.
FIRE COORDINATION: Dennis Kappler advised that there will be a
meeting next Wednesday of the Delaware River Review.
NEPTUNE: No report
HAZ-MAT: The team worked on radiation theory and detection.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY EMS: No report
N. J. DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY: No report
N.J. STATE FIREMEN’S RELEIF ASSOCIATION: Glenn Roemmich
thanked everyone for getting their reports in on time. The Delegate &
Alternate reports will be due by May 1
st
. The delegate, alternate and life
member expenses for Convention will be the same as last year.
N.J. FIREMENS HOME: Harry Strube stated that during the last storm
the home had lost power due to 5 poles being felled. The home is operating
on generator power. The home is preparing for their annual gold outing, he
asked the Association to consider donating as they have in the past.
N.J. EXEMPT ASSOCIATION: Glenn Roemmich reported that the 2018
Convention will be in Phillipsburg in August. The Memorial Service will be
in Old Bridge on Saturday April 21
st
at 11:00 am.
LAW & LEGISLATION: Frank Lambing reported that
There was nothing new to report but some bills are being introduced.
BANQUET COMMITTEE: Nothing to report at this time.
AWARDS COMMITTEE: No report
AUDITING COMMITTEE: The books have been audited all were found
to be in order. There is one outstanding check, which has not been cashed
yet.
BY-LAW COMMITTEE: The committee is reviewing the proposed
changes, hope to have them for the next meeting.
BEAREAVMENT COMMITTEE: No report
SPECIAL COMMITTEES:
RADIO COMMITTEE: President Cardile advised that the Ladder
Company Resource Typing Standard will be voted upon next month. Also if
you did not get your radios upgraded contact the radio techs as soon as
possible. The radio techs are working on the toning list. And the fumes card
for dispatch can now be broken down to interior or exterior fumes.
TECH RESCUE: No report
TENDER TASK FORCE: We had our bi -monthly meeting last week
[march-1st] at Mantua Fire department Jackson rd station. The major topic
of discussion was the confirmation and details of Aprils upcoming drill in
Franklin twp. The drill will be held on Sunday April 8th at 9am. All
department will be toned for it. The Franklinville fire co will be hosting it at
the twp middle school. This will be a multi-task force event, the LDH group
will also be a part of the drill. I have meet with them and discussed what we
are looking for them to do. In the next week or so i will be emailing out on
the Chief's Association list, a packet with all the info the groups will need
for the drill. Our leadership group will be meeting the week of the 19th to
discuss roles during the drill. I would like to thank Franklinville fire co for
hosting the spring drill. My apologies for not attending tonight's meeting as i
am in a class Tues & Thurs night through may. Respectfully submitted

FOAM STRIKE TEAM: Jeff Pfeiffer advised that they have held an
operational drill. Their next meeting will be held on March 13
th
at
Glassboro Firehouse, Camden County Foam Strike Team will have
representatives at that meeting.
LARGE DIAMETER HOSE TASK FORCE: The leadership group met
last week. Mark Gismondi has been added to the leadership team.
TRAINING/FIRE ACADEMY COMMITTEE: They are working on
getting some support. The College budget did get approved.
ST. FLORIAN COMMITTEE: The event will be held on Sunday May
6
th
.
LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE: For 2019 they are looking at possibly
having a joint symposium with the Emergency Response Center.
STAFFING ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE: The committee had met last
week, a healthy discussion was held. They will be meeting again the last
Wednesday of March.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Letter from John Hoffman resigning as a trustee. Joe Petsch motion to
accept his resignation seconded by Dana Decesari, motion passed.
The nomination committee will work on getting a nomination to fill the open
trustee spot, for the April meeting.
PAYMENT of BILLS:
$ 275.00 Gateway High School for maintenance
Bill Beckett motion to pay the bill seconded by Butch Myers, motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Bob Hill read off his report but did not forward a copy for the minutes.
Pat Robinson motion to accept the treasurer’s report seconded by Rick
Thomas motion passed.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: A question was raised as to what address the
Association is to use as it’s mailing address. There was a motion to use the
Fire Academies address, which was rescinded, the Trustees will work on the
issue.
NEW BUSINESS:
Bill Beckett motion that to donate $ 300.00 to the Firemen’s Home Golf
Outing, seconded by Kyle Adams, motion passed.
Frank Lambing questioned on the Association changing its name back to the
Gloucester County Fire Chief’s Association, which was put on hold by
President Cardile.
Dennis Kappler then advised the group that as busy as all of the fire
companies had been during the storms on Friday and on Wednesday, that the
dispatch staff handled all of the calls for service. It was the same shift that
worked both storms. During the storm on Wednesday they handled 875 9-1-
1 calls, 250 fire/EMS incidents with 10 dispatchers.
They also had received calls for Burlington County, Camden County and
Ocean Counties, as their dispatchers were unable to keep up with the
incoming phone calls for service. Our dispatchers need to be commended
for their continued professional service that they provide.
