The meeting was called to order by President Cardile at 1930 hours. The
group saluted the flag the invocation was given by Chaplain Rev. Kevin
Davis.
Address of welcome was given by Retied Chief Hal Brown of the Harmony
Fire Company.
NEW MEMBERS:
Chief Gary Schroder of the Clayton Fire Company
Assistant Chief Wayne Fanslau of the Thorofare Fire Co.
Captain Brian Ford of the Cecil Fire Company.
Rick Thomas motion to accept the Officers into the Association, seconded
by Bill Beckett, motion passed.
President Cardile then administered the Oath of Membership to the members
accepted tonight.
Hal Brown motion to suspend the normal order of business seconded by Pat
Robinson, motion passed.
President Cardile then introduced Max Kursh from Cooper University
Health Care who advised of the program that they have for the physicals and
other medical programs that they offer to the First Responder Community.
MINUTES OF PAST MEETING:
Joe Petsch motion that the minutes of the April meeting be approved as
emailed seconded by Bill McNulty, motion passed.
FREEHOLDER REPORT: Freeholder Chila was unable to attend due to
another obligation.

FIREFIGHTER 1
Spring semester nearing completion with 12 students
participating.
Graduation, May 25, 1900 @ Fine Arts Bldg.
Fall semester program, First session Friday August 11, 2017 @
1900.
Stations are encouraged to ensure that your candidate is more
likely than not to both perform all physical tasks, and perform
with a minimal proficiency all written exams.
FIRE ACADEMY GENERAL BUSINESS
Work beginning on the development of a NJ Firefighter II program
with delivery this fall.
TRAINING & EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
Hazardous Materials Committee progressing on program
development.
Driver program progressing, awaiting assistance from the Division of
Fire Safety to develop a written exam and format skill sheets.
DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY: No report

advised he had nothing new to report.
FIRE COORDINATION: Dennis Kappler advised that all was quiet.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY EMS: No Report
N. J. DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY: No Report
N.J. STATE FIREMEN’S RELEIF ASSOCIATION: Bill McNulty
reminded all that the local associations have until May 15
th
to get their IRS
990 forms into the State Office. So far there is one resolution for the
Convention. All present Officers are running for reelection. Candidates
have until June 1
st
to file a petition to run for any of the offices. The next
Executive Committee meeting will be held on May 20
th
.
N.J. FIREMENS HOME: Harry Strube stated that the budget is
progressing well, the home is coming out with an eligibility form for those
wanting to enter the home. He also thanked all for the support of the golf
outing which was a success.
N.J. EXEMPT ASSOCIATION: Glenn Roemmich reported that the
Convention will be in Hackettstown in June.
LAW & LEGISLATION: Frank Lambing reported that
there was nothing to report.
ST. FLORIAN COMMITTEE: Rev. Davis reported that the attendance
was the best since the service started. The recipient of the Medal of Mercy
was Rev. Davis. Rev. Davis stated that his last meeting with us will be the
June meeting as he has been assigned a Church in Old Bridge.
BY-LAW COMMITTEE: Nothing to report.
BEAREAVMENT COMMITTEE: Rick Thomas reported that the
committee had assisted the Franklinville Fire Company with the funeral of
Frank Adams.
SPECIAL COMMITTEES:
RADIO COMMITTEE: Nothing new to report.
TECH RESCUE: The report was not forwarded to the Secretary.
TENDER TASK FORCE: They held a drill in East Greenwich at the
Shady Lane Complex. They had 12 Tenders and 4 engines in attendance.
They are looking for a location for a drill in the fall.
FOAM STRIKE TEAM: The team has been training its members. The
team is planning a drill with the foam tenders. Pat Robinson has been
working on awareness for foam operations. They have been working with
both Burlington & Camden County Foam Teams on operational issues.
LARGE DIAMETER HOSE TASK FORCE: Chief Brian Golle will be
the task force leader. They will have a further report for the June meeting.
TRAINING/FIRE ACADEMY COMMITTEE: President Cardile advised
they are working on scheduling a meeting.

At this time the operational vote was taken on the resource typing for
Rescue, Squad and Utility.
One Fire Company abstain from voting.
One Fire Company who paid dues was not in attendance

Rescue resource typing passed 32 Yes 6 No
Utility resource typing did not pass 19 Yes 19 No
A question from the floor on the voting, per the By-Laws an operational vote
must pass by a 2/3 majority vote.
Policy will be worked on next for the resource typing.
It was suggested by the floor to come up with a quick response vehicle
resource typing for pick-up trucks.
On Friday June 30
th
the Warriors Watch Riders will be escorting the
Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall into West Orange. The Wall will be
traveling up the Turnpike. They are asking for Fire Departments to cover
the overpasses. Jim Schmidt will be handling the detail.

GOOD & WELFARE OF THE ASSOCIATION:
The Highway Safety meeting will be held tomorrow in Blackwood.
