N. J. DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY: No Report
N.J. STATE FIREMEN’S RELIEF ASSOCIATION: Ken Wigglesworth
reported for Bill McNulty, that construction of the new office for the State
Relief Association has begun in Wall Township. Don’t forget to file your
quarterly reports. Also the home health care initiative is going well as long
as you have a qualified home health care service. Ken asked all to keep Bill
in your thoughts and prayers as he continues to battle cancer.
N.J. FIREMENS HOME: Harry Strube stated that at the home they are
utilizing new respiratory and rehab technics.
Harry stated that they are going to work on a memory care unit at the home
in Boonton. The plan is to rehab Wing E of the home, that wing can be
locked down and would require the least amount of rehabilitation. They will
also make some modifications to Wings A & B.
They held their reorganization meeting last week and Harry will remain as
the Board of Managers Secretary.
N.J. EXEMPT ASSOCIATION: Glenn Roemmich reported that the
Exempt Convention will not be held in Cape May as previously reported due
to financial items that would hurt the Exempt Association.
LAW & LEGISLATION: Frank Lambing reported that Senate Bill S-
3311 will require retirement incentive offer before public safety department
layoffs in municipalities in need of stabilization and recovery. The
Assembly partner bill is A-4880.
BANQUET COMMITTEE: Bill Ross reported they are woeking on
attempting to get the New Philadelphia Fire Commissioner to be the speaker.
Tickets will be available starting at the November meeting. There is no
price increase this year. Also get your photos and videos to Dan DeBear for
the year in review.
AWARDS COMMITTEE: Nominations for awards will be excepted until
sometime in December.
