Report of the LDH Taskforce September 8, 2016
Committee Members Deputy Fire Coordinator Farley
Chief Sole Wenonah
Deputy Chief Mower Woodbury Heights
Assistant Chief Nessler Wenonah
Over the summer the committee met four times. As of September 8 we can
report the following:
SOG’s have been developed and are continuing to be refined. We have met
with Fire Coordinator Kappler on two occasions to review the draft SOG’s.
Deputy Chief Mower will be wrapping up the last of the revisions shortly
and the final copy will be submitted to the Fire Coordinator.
The committee has also been working on the resource list and the operations
staff. At this time the plan is to have a large Strike Team 1 and a smaller
LDH reserve. The attempt is to not tie in companies that are already
committed to other taskforce assignments. If however they are the reserve
companies would be deployed. The same would be true for resources that
are out of service or cannot staff for deployment.
Once the draft of the resource list is completed we will be meeting with the
individual company’s chief officers for a roundtable discussion of the
proposed team and reserves. This hopefully will happen before the middle
of October at the latest.
The committee’s goal continues to have a “hose in the street” drill before the
end of this year. The Franklin Township deployment was a good model for
us to work off of. That was still deployed by what the Response Center has
on file. The committee felt the deployment went well and each resource
worked well with each other.
Respectfully Submitted,
Drew Sole
