The meeting was called to order by President Cardile at 1930 hours. The
group saluted the flag, observed a moment of silence to remember fallen
brother and sister firefighters then the invocation was given by Chaplain Rev
Kevin Davis.
Address of welcome was given by Chief Rich Gianforcaro of the Glassboro
Fire Company.
NEW MEMBERS:
The new member forms were not available at tonight’s meeting, they will be
at the March meeting.
All members were given an Oath of Membership to take for the Association.
At this time President Cardile lead all in attendance in the reciting of the
oath.
Pat Robinson motion seconded by Mark Gismondi to suspend the normal
order of business, motion passed.
Members of the New Jersey Forest Fire Service then advised the Association
members what services they can assist with, and introduced their members
who would be responding to incidents within the County.
MINUTES OF PAST MEETING:
Frank Lambing motion that the minutes of the December 2015 meeting be
approved as emailed seconded by, Pat Robinson motion passed.
Bill Ross motion that the minutes of the January meeting be approved as
emailed seconded by, Frank Rehman motion passed.
FREEHOLDER REPORT: Freeholder Chila was unable to attend the
meeting.

NJ DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY:
Driver training program submitted to state.
Two pilot offerings scheduled for March at the Camden County
Fire Academy

G.C. EMERGENCY RESPONSE REPORT: Director Tom Butts
advised that the Radio Project is moving forward some Police Departments
started on the 700 radio frequencies on December 16, and all of the
Departments were up and running on 700 by the middle of January. All of
the radios have in the Police vehicles were completed during the first week
of February.
Chuck Murtaugh stated that they are in the process of installing radios in
Fire Chief Vehicles and small utility or pick-up trucks. They are able to do
8 vehicles a day. They are hopeful to start the installation of radios in the
fire apparatus late next week. The projected start date for the fire service is
February 22
nd
at 0600. All departments should make sure that the 700
frequency portables are charged and ready for use and your members have
been trained on their use.
Fire Coordination: Dennis Kappler advised that statewide coordinators
meeting was held in Middlesex County. The main focus will be the County
response plans. And those plans now have to include a rail emergency plan.
NEPTUNE SYSTEM: Dennis reported that yesterday members of the
Foam Task Force and Neptune system took place in foam training, through
the generosity of the PBF Refinery and Pat Robinson.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY EMS: Chris Rosser is unable to attend due to
being away. He just wants to remind everyone about the Core Weekend
next month.
N. J. DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY: Captain Gallagher advised that the
yearly Fire Official reports are due in to the Division. A reminder that fire
officers have to have a certifications. They should at least have a Level 1
certification. If your department gets audited by PEOSHA they will require
that certification validation. There is a major warehouse fire in Somerset
County and the north Neptune System is on site.
N.J. STATE FIREMEN’S RELEIF ASSOCIATION: Bill McNulty
reminded all that the percentage green sheets are due into the state office by
February 28
th
. The Financial reports are due into the office on February 20
th
.
The Executive committee is working on a better way of nominating officer
at the convention, they are also looking to upgrade the voting system.
N.J. FIREMENS HOME: Harry Strube advised that the Home had
weathered the snowstorm very well. All is running smooth. And the
electrical system upgrade at the home is 90% complete.
N.J. EXEMPT ASSOCIATION: Glenn Roemmich reported that the
Memorial Service will be held on April 16
th
in Hamilton Twp. The Exempt
Convention will be held on Saturday June 25
th
in Sayreville.
LAW & LEGISLATION: Frank Lambing reported that any bills that had
been introduced and had not no action, will now have to be reintroduced, as
the legislature is now starting a new 2 year cycle.
BANQUET COMMITTEE: Bill Ross stated that the committee is
working on some of the problems that had occurred during the annual
banquet at Adelphia’s. He is working on setting up a meeting with
Adelphia’s to address the issues.
AUDITING COMMITTEE: No report
BY-LAW COMMITTEE: No report
BEAREAVMENT COMMITTEE: Rick Thomas advised that the trailer
had been used last month in Salem County.
SPECIAL COMMITTEES:
RADIO COMMITTEE: No Report
TECH RESCUE: The secretary did not receive their February report.
TENDER TASK FORCE: Bob Bramble advised that they will be meeting
on March 3
rd
in Woolwich. They are planning a drill in the spring.
FOAM STRIKE TEAM: No Report
LARGE DIAMETER HOSE TASK FORCE: Nothing to report
ST. FLORIAN COMMITTEE: They will start meeting to plan the service
and activities. The service will be held on Sunday May 1
st
.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: President Cardile mentioned that the website
is going to be updated soon. Having an issue with access.
NEW BUSINESS: Scott Powell from the Verga Fire Company talked
about the Firefighter Memorial at their firehouse and how they are asking
the County Fire Companies to purchase a brick to be included in the
Memorial Walkway. They Fire Company will also be celebrating their 100
th
Anniversary in June, with a Parade on June 11
th
.
