The meeting was called to order by President Cardile at 1930 hours. The
group saluted the flag the invocation was given by Asst. Chaplain Archie
Roemmich
Address of welcome was given by Lt. Jason Kell of the Deptford Fire
Department Good Intent Road Station.
NEW MEMBERS:
Captain Sean Murray of the Williamstown Fire Company
John Hoffman motion to accept Captain Murray into the Association
seconded by Joe Petsch, motion passed. The Oath of Membership was then
administered to Captain Murray by Preside Cardile.
MINUTES OF PAST MEETING:
Pat Robinson motion that the minutes October meeting be approved as
emailed seconded by Joe Chillari motion passed.
FREEHOLDER REPORT: Freeholder Chila advised that the Freeholders
had approved emergency appropriations for the repair work being done on
the Neptune System.
He also announced that there are additional portable radios that are
available. So each station will be getting 2 additional portable radios from
the County. The warranty on these 2 portables will be expiring at the end of
the year. You can purchase additional warranty time from Motorola.
You will have to contact Motorola for the cost of extended warranty.

FIRE ACADEMY REPORT: Bob Hill’s report is as follows:
FIREFIGHTER 1
Fall semester past midpoint 20 student’s participating
Live Fire training has begun
Fall Graduation Wednesday December 21, At 1900 Hours at the Fine
Arts Building
Spring program set to start Friday January 13, 2017
New, I will ask for the name and contact information of a member of
sending organization to be copied on all mail being exchanged
between myself and your member. Except where student refuses to
give consent.
May consider fall 2017 returning to traditional program of nights and
weekends
Stations that are listed as EO’s are encouraged to partner with the
academy so that some FF 1 make up work can be done
The JB Learning Management System is being looked at a means to
have students complete make up work.
FIRE ACADEMY GENERAL BUSINESS
For NFA Incident Safety Officer Program Dates: 11/19 & 11/20
CEVO IV supposedly to be released in December. This program will
be offered for delivery at the academy and in-station
New for 2017 Look for NFPA programs on alternative fuel vehicles.
This program will be offered either in modules e.g. Hybrid, hydrogen,
or fuel cell. More to follow.
Academy now operating under cold weather guidelines.
A. Stations wishing to train during cold weather are urged to develop
a contingency plan for occurrences where a drill has to be
cancelled due to weather.
B. Exterior and live fire training will not occur when ambient
temperatures are at or below freezing.
TRAINING & EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
I will be working with Jones & Bartlett on a new text reportedly
dedicated solely to driver training. Hope to have more information on this
for December.
DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY
NJ weekend for 2017 is March 18 & 19 with reception on the 17
th
.
Courses and registration should be out in the coming days
Cost and course selection information to be made public shortly.
270 seats available
I am putting together our second Memorial service to be conducted on
Saturday.
To date there are 5 NJ LODD to be recognized.
G.C. EMERGENCY RESPONSE REPORT: Director Tom Butts
advised that a repeater for the Deptford Mall complex, all equipment has
been ordered. Hope to be in within the next 60 90 days.
MOU’s for the addition of Camden County Frequencies are being worked on
by County Counsel.
For the 2 additional portables email Chuck Murtaugh with the ID’s for the
portables.
FIRE COORDINATION: Dennis Kappler advised that MOU’s for the
Municipal mutual aid plans are being reviewed and will contain some
different language.
NEPTUNE: The pump module is at Giles & Ransome for repairs to the
cooling system. Hope to have it back for testing in December with flowing
water.
On October 30
th
the Neptune System was used at a drill in Pennsauken,
during the drill the Fireboat out of Wilmington had mechanical issues.
HAZ-MAT: The team had done training with the PBF Refinery. They
thanked Pat Robinson and the PBF Refinery for including the team in
training.
GLOUCESTER COUNTY EMS: No report
N. J. DIVISION OF FIRE SAFETY: No report
N.J. STATE FIREMEN’S RELEIF ASSOCIATION: Bill McNulty not
able to attend the meeting but want to advise thatAll associations in the
county turned in their Quarterly Relief reports and all Expense reports on
time. As a matter of fact all Associations in the State were in on time. I
would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving.
N.J. FIREMENS HOME: Harry Strube stated that the generator for the
home has been installed and running, if needed. And the Home is preparing
for Thanksgiving. The Newark Fire Department did host a clambake at the
home for the residents.
N.J. EXEMPT ASSOCIATION: Glenn Roemmich reported that the
Exempt Executive Committee meeting will be held this Saturday in
Boonton.
LAW & LEGISLATION: Frank Lambing reported that there was nothing
to report.
BANQUET COMMITTEE: Vice-President Bill Ross reported that the
committee had met with Aulletto’s and the preparations are progressing.
There will be 2 cash bars, fruit and cheese tables. There will be 8 seats to a
table. The menu is still be worked on but we will have handmade crab
cakes, roast beef and stuffed chicken breast.
Dan DeBear will be doing the slide show, please forward pictures and videos
to him.
AWARDS COMMITTEE: Chief Hoffman advised that anyone with
nominations for awards should have them to the committee before the
December meeting or bring them to the December meeting. The award
period runs from December 2015 to the end of November.

On a side note FYI, I met last week with Chief Gallagher to discuss the
county's ESF#9 plan for search and rescue. It was very positive and I am
hopeful that a lot of good will come from working with him in his position
at the county. We both seem to have the same goal of expanding search and
rescue capabilities in the county.

TENDER TASK FORCE: Bob Bramble advised that they will adding
additional members to the coordinating group. Their next meeting will be
January 5
th
in Ewan.
FOAM STRIKE TEAM: Are attending a meeting in Camden County
tonight. They are continuing to work on their SOG’s.
LEADERSHIP SEMINAR: Ryan Pierson the seminar went well, there
were 27 people that signed up but did not attend the seminar. The seminar
came in under budget.
LARGE DIAMETER HOSE TASK FORCE: The Task Force met last
Thursday and had 12 Chief’s in attendance to review the SOG’s. They are
planning a drill that will take place at Sony Music.
TRAINING/FIRE ACADEMY COMMITTEE: The committee has met
with 4 vendors, and have compared 4 bids. They still have a few vendors to
speak to.
CORRESPONDENCE: A thank you letter was read from Retired
Dispatcher Glenn Roemmich for everyone’s kind words and those who sent
apparatus and personnel to the center for farewell, while waiting in the rain.
