OFFICER'S ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL BANQUET
ADELPHIA’S BALLROOM
January 14, 2016
The annual banquet was called to order by President Matt Cardile 1900
hours, the group then saluted the flag had a moment of silence for our fallen
brothers and sisters, then the invocation was given by Chaplain Rev. Kevin
Davis.
Joe Petsch motion to dispense with the regular order of business, seconded
by Ed Barber, motion passed.
President Cardile then read comments from Past President Zimm who was
unable to attend due to having surgery.
President Cardile then called on Freeholder Chila to administer the Oath of
office to the 2016 Officers and the County Fire Marshal and Deputy
Marshals. Following the swearing in of the Association Officers,
Freeholder Chila then thanked all for their sacrifices and wished everyone a
Happy and Healthy New Year.
President Cardile then gave a few remarks on where he believes the
organization is headed and a few of his ideas for the Association.
President Cardile the welcomed everyone and introduced quests in
attendance.
Dinner was then served by the staff at Adelphia’s.
President Cardile then introduced the remaining quests in attendance and the
Past Presidents in attendance.
President Cardile the introduced the guest speaker Deputy Commissioner
Jesse Wilson of the Philadelphia Fire Department.
President Cardile then called upon the bereavement committee who
conducted a short memorial service to remember those who had passed away
during 2015.
A slide show presentation of pictures and events of 2015 that was put
together by Dan Debear of the Woolwich Fire Company was then shown.
President Cardile thanked Dan for the outstanding job he did on the slide
show.
President Cardile then called on the awards committee. The East Greenwich
Township Fire & Rescue & N.J. Forestry Service were awarded unit
citations for their work following the June 23
rd
Storms. Members of the
Reliance Fire Company from Woodstown also received awards for their
assistance to the East Greenwich Fire Rescue on the Storm in June. And
members of the Deptford Fire Department received awards for the response
to the fire in February at the Chestnut Lane Apartments.
President Cardile then called retired Public Safety Telecommunicator Ken
Lansdowne forward. Ken retired from the Gloucester County Emergency
Response Center with 35 years of service. Ken had over 40 years of service
to the residents of Gloucester County as a dispatcher. President Cardile
presented Ken with a plaque for his dedicated service.
The banquet committee then awarded door prizes and the large raffles, the
Wine & Wine Rack was won by Bryant Fiddler and the Fire Helmet was
won by Shawn Layton.
President Cardile then thanked the banquet committee for another job well
done on the banquet.
The place of the next meeting will be the Glassboro Fire Company on
Thursday February 11
th
2016 at 1930 hours.
Motion made by Rick Thomas to adjourn, seconded by many, motion
passed.
The meeting adjourned at 21:50 hours.
